As I am sure many of you know, Apple does not let just any program through to their iPhone.  You must pass an approval process for each release.  In this article it is explained how a very well known and decent programmer was shut down for over 3 months over some simple images.  To show you how twisted that department is.  They were delaying an update to an existing program over some Apple images that were given to him by Apple to put on an Apple device and were already there being used.  All the users that have been using this application have been denied very needed updates to fix some issues for months as a result.  The programmer has decided to stop making iPhone applications.

It kick up ice?  It kicked up GOLD?  Maybe it kicked up Kryptonian Rock.

Yesterday NASA fired a rocket into the moon to kick up debris and analyze it.  Following there after "William Harwood" wrote this well written article on cnet discussing it.

<rant>The title of the article is "Kamikaze moon mission kicks up dust, maybe ice?".  Why did he say maybe ice?  After reading his very well written article I felt a bit mislead.  The editors of these articles will say ANYTHING they want in the form of a question to make you believe something is there or true that is not.  He states very clearly in his article that the representative from NASA totally refused to make any speculation as to what was contained in the debris.  They got some spectroscopic data near the impact point that showed a smear or light that they did not believe to be frome the impact.  It was also stated that "it could be methane, it could be hydrocarbons or organics".  They chose to write "maybe ice?" instead of "looking for ice" to imply that something within the article you are about to read firmly depict ICE.</rant>

It appears that we will get another full 13 seasons out of Torchwood.  However, their is discussion that they would need a whole new staff since they killed everyone off the last season.  One has to ask ones self, "How big a role do the characters play in building a story".  I say it is like 80%.  So with that in mind, is this REALLY the same show?  Lucky for us this is a time travel related show, so it is not inconceivable that they could bring back the whole staff in a well place time travel incident.  Read about it here.  (LOL WHOvians)

The universe comes and goes, but the bullshit goes on forever.

-- Ed Rataj

Military.com|by Christian Lowe

It's a rifle designed specifically for the special operations community. Modular barrels, ambidextrous controls, a gas-piston operating system, a host of adjustment options -- but you already know that.

So with all the slick marketing language and eye-popping specifications of the SOCOM Combat Assault Rifle, it's a given that operators will embrace the thing wholeheartedly, right?

Well, let's ask them.

"This rifle is awesome," said one Special Forces operator who, like the rest of the Green Berets in this interview, declined to be named for security reasons. "It's spot on."

Now you get an idea of how the men who'll use the weapon in combat felt about it, not just some six-figure marketing guru spewing crafty catch-phrases. But what's most interesting is why they liked the rifle so much.

In an exclusive, Military.com joined a group of about a dozen special operations Soldiers from around the country who traveled to Northern Virginia this summer to test fire the SCAR before their upcoming deployment to the Middle East. Ground rules agreed to between the special operators, the rifle manufacturer and Military.com precluded naming the unit, its members or its deployment destination.

Hi. We're gonna be launching a new part of the website soon (-ish), and one of the features we're stealing from the current home page will be that anyone from the community can submit blog posts to the main page.

It would be nice to have a few posts lined up for launch, so I'm wondering if a few people would be willing to write a post?
The post can be on anything related to Dangerous Minds, or your hobbies and interests - technical or non-technical - it would be nice to have a balance.

Some topics might include:
- How you use Dangerous Minds in real life in situations such as education, at work, within clubs etc.
- Tips and tricks about writing code or creating art.
- Your experiences in Dangerous Minds - what have you learnt, who have you met?
- General thoughts and other topics around just about anything that you think would benefit others.

The posts can be long or short, there is no preference. Try to keep it succinct though please.
Once the site launches, you will be able to write posts directly on the web site, but for now, feel free to email me posts at djpaul {/at] gmail [[dot]] com.

Cheers
DJPaul

Original article here When it comes to getting deep into a Windows system and tweaking the stuff you can't get to from the Control Panel, the free tools provided by Nirsoft and Sysinternals are hard to beat. Windows System Control Centre is a free, no-install app that provides a convenient front-end for running every app released by those groups. The app requires that you keep each group of utilities in the same directory, but the majority of them are portable and USB-friendly. System Control Centre requires that you download the apps in question, but it also links to a few standard high-level Windows tools for all-in-one fix-it work. System Control Centre is a free download for Windows systems only.

Here in the States we have a legend of a half man, half ape, beast that runs the forests in Georgia, US.  Many people know him as the "Sasquatch" and believe it to be the missing link between man and ape.  Recently someone brought to my attention an article stating that a couple guys had found a dead Bigfoot.  As kewlfoo directed me to this very well done blog entry by David Emery's Urban Legends Blog, he has found an article by the The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization claiming this to be a hoax.  I cannot say for sure that they have not found anything, but based on what I have seen it must be.  In this video the bigfoot captures claim to have a doctor examine the bigfoot.  In this video they admit that the doctor is his brother and claim the NEW doctor is a stuffed teddy bear.  By that logic the bigfoot body they have might be a dead frozen dog named bigfoot.  All they keep saying is "There is a body".  Remember that old riddle about the detective that finds 2 dead bodies in a room but noone died.  They were 2 dead fish.
